Karimnagar: Telangana political JAC chairman Prof Kodandaram and several other leaders, at the ‘Karimnagar Kavaathu’ programme held in the town on Sunday, lashed out at the State Government and also on the top leaders belonging to Seemandhra for dilly dallying on separate Telangana State issue.

As a trial for the proposed ‘Chalo Hyderabad’ programme which is scheduled for September 30, a massive rally and meeting was held in Karimnagar on Sunday. The rally (Kavaathu) commenced from Manair Bridge early in the morning and passed through the main roads culminating in a public meeting at Circus Grounds.

Government employees, teachers, workers from various sections, and party activists of TRS, CPI, BJP, CPM and CPM-ML (New Democracy) participated in the rally. More than 10,000 activists participated in the rally and in the meeting.

Prof Kodandaram said the present plight of Telangana is due to the partisan attitude by the rulers from Andhra region. Their (the Telangana leaders) fight is against the rulers from Andhra region and not against the people from Andhra region, he said.

Even the present Government under the rule of N Kiran Kumar Reddy has been showing biased attitude towards the people of Telangana. Farmers have been facing hardships due to power cuts and due to scarcity of fertilizers. Students were also facing losses due to shortage of seats in professional colleges, the JAC leader has said.

In a scathing attack, Kodandaram targeted Civil Supplies Minister D Sridhar Babu. He said that the Minister would face the same fate that his father (Sri Padarao) met some years ago.

Prof Kodandaram reiterated that the proposed ‘Chalo Hyderabad’ Programme would be a grand success on September 30. He expressed happiness over the overwhelming support received from common people for Karimnagar Kavaathu. He asked all the political party leaders to conduct such rallies in other Telangana districts as a trial for the proposed `Million march’.

JAC co-chairman Malle- palli Lakshmaiah, Pittala Ravinder, BJP senior leader Ch Vidyasagar Rao, CPI leader Chada Venkat Reddy, TRS MLA Satyanarayana, TNGOs leaders Srinivas Goud, Vithal, poets and artists participated in the rally and public meeting.
